Now anyone has the ability to buy a song, download it to your mp3 player and listen to it almost anywhere. Gone are the days you have to buy the whole album just to listen to a couple of your favorite songs. The now generation thinks of music artists in songs that they like, not the entire album. There’s just too much great music to choose from with digital downloads.
Used to be finding the cheapest mp3 player still meant you were going to spend some cash, not any more. Low priced mp3 players are everywhere. You can even get them free as an add on for another item, door prizes for business meetings or sometimes for just showing up at an event. The price has really dropped through the floor.
The apple iPod used to be the only real game in town and sure the apple fans jumped all over this product. And I must say it’s a nice mp3 player, especially with the available memory, video options and accessories.
But these days with all the major electronics companies in the mp3 player arena you can get a nice mp3 player at the fraction of the cost of an apple iPod. There’s almost too many to mention.
All you have to do is decide what features you want and what features you can do without.
A good example is I picked up a Philips GoGear 4 GB Vibe MP3 Video Player with 1.5-Inch Color Screen awhile back. I was amazed at how well this unit was built and it couldn’t get any easier to operate. For once in my life I didn’t need to look at the operator’s manual at all. This unit is very intuitive, it’s like a normal person designed it. In about 30 minutes I had all the songs I wanted on it and listening away.
And this is only one sample of the available cheap mp3 players out now. Even iPod introduced their low end just to keep up, maybe not as low as the vibe but still the micro was a major drop.
Everyone knows Sony and iRiver a major movers in the beginning but not any more especially with flash memory dropping, it wasn’t long before every brand could start putting out lower price models.
So it’s a good idea to decide, do you really need to watch video? Or do you need to voice record in the lecture hall?
How about the FM tuner? These are nice features and some of the cheapest mp3 players still have these features but they can’t keep up with the higher price models, either in memory requirements or screen displays.
Another issue is a lot of electronic products usually cut the quality of the components or the durability of day to day use can’t keep up. Not anymore, a lot of the lower priced mp3 players can keep up with a minimal of abuse. You can’t step on it but just about anything else goes. Come to think of it you can’t step on the high priced one either so you still have to practice a little care.
As you look around the net at the different reviews you will find users raving about the cheap mp3 players just as much as the higher priced ones, so the days of expensive mp3 players are gone, you can now find a cheaper one and save some of that cash to buy more of your favorite mp3’s.
Important mp3 Information:
Nothing beats the convenience of an mp3 player. Being able to download almost unlimited amount of songs from the internet and storing them on a personal player is almost unthinkable just 10 years ago.
With some of the brands this process is a little involved or you have to use special mp3 software. But this is much better than learning to burn cds or copying tapes.
From it’s early beginnings which is only the early 80’s to the first mp3 playback program in the 90’s, digital downloads have all but taken over the music industry.
The hardest part these days is getting the files from your computer to your player in a way that you understand where the songs are when you want them and how to cue them.
For the people with ipods here is site that helps explain how to move songs from your ipod to your computer. I must say I did this one night for my girlfriend and it took a bit of reading but I succeeded. Of course if you have an 11 year old around they can probably do it while they’re watching tv.
